UK Food Bloggers Association

I don't know how many of you have suffered from content theft. You post original content on your blog and some scraper site comes along and automatically harvests it and posts it as though it's their content. Sometimes you get people doing cut'n'paste jobs too.

It can get very annoying. One of my friends has taken up the cause.

Please have a look and support us in our fight against content thieves:

Thanks for reading, and we'll be glad of anyone joining us in the fight to get rid of these thieves and cheats.

Thanks,

Kay

I too would be interested in how to put watermarks onto photographs.
Over the last three and a half years of food blogging I have had my fair share of posts being stolen.
The last time was just before Christmas 2009 and the photograph they had stolen appeared on google images alongside my photographs but referencing their site. The posting on their site was full of spelling mistakes and they didn't even link back to my site. Fortunately, someone has now taken the stolen photograph off google images. It doesn't get much more cheeky than that - or does it?

That would be a mammouth task! I've had to go through all the posts on our site before, and it's not even a year old. It made me go crazy...

In theory, if you're comfortable with FTP you could download all your images, run a batch process to automatically add a watermark to them, then FTP them back to the images folder on your Wordpress/Blogger install? Failing that, save your sanity and just start doing it from now onwards!

Going forward I'm pretty sure Wordpress offers watermarks when you add an image. If not, then the NextGEN gallery plugin deffo does, again that's Wordpress though. :)

I use PicMarkr which is free and easy to use. I can watermark 5 photos in one go which is usually the number of photos, or less, that I use on my blog post. I hope to find a better one though.
