Yes, I'm also guilty of this foible. I recently went on a visit to Greenlife - the wholefood supermarket in Totnes - expressly to buy raw cocoa powder to make some raw chocolates (which I still haven't got around to making) and came out with coconut…
Congratulations - I've recently passed my first year of blogging and it's interesting how it's moved on to quite a different beast to what I had originally intended.
We bit the bullet yesterday and got down to our rather neglected plot and got some potatoes in. Is it too early? Time will tell, it's always a bit hard to judge these things. The plot is in a bit of a frost pocket so it's a bit of a risk. We've got…
Thanks for the info Giles, I thought that export feature could only be used if you were moving your whole site to another one, that's good to know though. I'll be using it to back up my posts now!
You're obviously an exhibitionist then Mark :)
Your idea sounds great btw! Do your posts actually need fancy formatting or can the pages be along the lines of my Printable Recipes?
If they don't need fancy formatting, let me know, as I may be able…
Had a look at your blog and the recipe printer is very good, but I want to print everything.
My blog is basically an online diary, so I've been thinking about printing the content periodically. So I have a hardbound copy. (I've also been inspired b…
The information stored is in a format called XML - to access the posts and all the information again, you need to import it back into your blog, if it ever gets corrupt, or import on a new blogging system like Blogger. it is not in 'easy' human read…
This is helpful information, Giles. I have done as you suggest (Wordpress) but the string of information stored on my computer (which I do not understand) seems very short to contain all the info on my blog and I have no idea how to access the actua…
Are you wanting to print the posts or just the foodie/recipe bit and pieces?
If you have a look at any of the recipes on my blog, you will see I have a Printable Version of them all that I have setup each time - are you wanting something this simpl…
I started my blog mainly as a diary of my foody adventures so I'd quite like to be able to print my blog.
Does anyone have any idea how you can get a blog printed?
The back-up option in Blogger isn't really suitable to print out.
Cheers,
Mark
I use that blogger (blogspot) export function to back up my blog about once a month.
I feel happier knowing I have the data there just incase.
People assume big companies won't ever lose their data but I remember ezboard suffering a devastating atta…
Aghh, chillies! We, I use the royal we when I actually mean my husband, are trying to breed a new chilli variety that can be easily grown outside in the UK. This will be our 5th year, but not sure we've really made much progress. I do have plenty ea…
Love cooking for others, especially baking, but find I have little time for it. Bias towards organic, local and healthy. Grow as much of own veg as possible (time a factor yet again). Started my blog a few months ago to give me an incentive to fit some baking in each week.

I live in a part of East London with lots of ethnic shops, so easy access to some great and unusual ingredients, but we do not really have any delis: not posh enough I suppose! I do have access to all the major supermarkets, some are quite large branches too. I'm just waiting for another source of 'second day' (ie stale) croissants so I can make the Toffee Apple Croissant Pudding again!

Thanks for your comment about my Toffee Apple Croissant Pudding.
I was particularly interested in finding shops that had Dulce de Leche/Confiture du Lait on their shelves here in the UK. I did read somewhere else that you can buy it online (from Merchant Gourmet as you say), but it seems an expensive way to get just one bottle. If you happen to be going there then off the shelf in France is considerably cheaper. Confiture du Lait will be on my regular shopping list for French holidays from now on, along with the olive oil and quite a few other 'specials'.
Perhaps this recipe would entice you to open your jar and give it a go?
Enjoy!

I'll try this for the 3rd time! Not sure what I did wrong. If you got my previous reply already, please forgive me. Basically I said its amazing to get a purple tattie - I've never seen one. Do you have any pics, i'd love to see what it looks like. I was also wondering if they're more beneficial health wise, like other fruits and veg that are darker and higher in antioxidants.. very intersting. I just checked out your blog, you really do like to bake! Your choc cake looks fab and i could dive into the log too! Time for dinner methinks!
Ahhh, thank you... Yeah actually i was thinking... "Ok, im not THAT awful at it!" at least, i dont give up! That must be the most vital bit eh? You would be so proud of me now... I have been baking all day (3 loaf tins) of Banana, nut and chocolate loaf cake... It smells absolutely stunning! Am giving one to my Mum, one to the my colleagues and some to my neighbours! They are huge!!! Wow! How was your baking class??? Teach me oh grand mistress of baking! Teach me! Lol.
Finally! I can bake! Wooo hooo!!!! The Chollah bread turned out perfectly!!! I made two huge loaves! One went to my Mum and the other i took to work and gave to all my colleagues for breakfast (as i cant eat bread at the moment) It was triumphant. Alas the chocolate souffle didnt go so well. The creme patisserie paste, looked like solid doggy poop... It didnt even make it to egg white stage. Gonna have to try it again, i think... Maybe start with savoury, which feels more in my comfort zone! Sorry to hear about your hubby, thats awful... I think im getting sick again for the 3rd time since Sept!
Hi Choclette, how are you??? What are you baking this weekend then??? I think im going to try and nail a good bread recipe and one of my souffles! Yikes! Dead nervous, but lets see!!!! Hope you are well xxx
Sorry for tardy reply- offline for months. Is living on wild food possible in UK?Well I did do it, but would not have managed if I hadn't shot game and fished. Even so I did suffer quite remarkable weight loss at one point during the Summer -the 'Sweet FA' diet as I thought of it at the time- and certainly would not have endured through a 'vegetarian' version. Some days I ate nothing but rabbit, rabbit, rabbit. But did become quite accomplished at cooking same, my favourite being rabbit roasted with a honey glaze.
Hi Choclette, thanks for your lovely msg! Its my pleasure and i'm glad you like it! There is really no rule of thumb on what you add extra to it! A lot of people add chopped leaves like lettuces etc, spinach, leeks and shallots. You can add all over them in and its still exactly how us Iranians do it! You rock! xxx
