About me
The British Larder is a recipe diary that is written, trialled and tested by a professional chef and self-confessed food fanatic. It’s been specially created for likeminded foodies who’d like to expand their repertoires and who want to be inspired to cook wonderful creations.
The recipes will mainly feature British seasonal produce; however, this won’t stop me from writing about food, ingredients and recipes inspired by my travels.
Photographs taken by myself accompany each recipe. All the photography used in British Larder will show a true picture of the food I create and that I encourage you to recreate.
I have a successful career and have had some magical opportunities. The idea for the British Larder stemmed from the amount of times that people have asked me for either recipes or recommendations and it has evolved due to my curiosity, passion and dream to share it with likeminded individuals.
This site gives me the opportunity to write about all the things I love and the discoveries I’ve made along my way, whether it be a restaurant, an inspirational chef, an outstanding food producer, a well written cookbook or a useful and well designed gadget.
The time has come for me to share my passion and “know-how” directly with other foodies. My aim is to create an informative hub that’s packed with shared cookery knowledge, hints tips, and recommendations.
Even with 15 years of cooking experience, I still enjoy attending cookery classes as well as sharing recipes with friends and family. I’m constantly on the lookout for the next gadget and the latest food trends. I’ll travel anywhere just to feed my addiction for food and cooking.
As food has taken over my life, it means that everything I do is related to food and cooking. I have an interest in photography, and I especially love photographing food. We have a house full of books, and yes you’ve guessed it, many of them are cookbooks!
Gardening has also entered my repertoire and I’ve been enjoying planting various fruits and vegetables. This has lead to a new found respect for the food that we see in abundance at the market, or even the supermarket, as I’ve had firsthand experience of the love and attention that is needed for something to grow and ripen naturally.

The British Larder is a journey through my career and a tribute to all the blood, sweat and tears that have been shed during the past 15 years.

Pink Peppercorn Strawberry Jelly and Thyme Infused Honey Custard

Wow did I have fun making this dish today!

Thanks to Great British Menu last week featuring the Welsh heat with Stephen Terry and James Sommerin. Both their desserts reminded me of my childhood. I love jelly and custard and James made a trifle that looked like my mums Chri… Continue

Grilled Madras Razor Clams with Sautéed Rainbow Chard and Cornish New Potatoes

I have a lot of love for Borough market and make a point of visiting regularly. My obsession has got to the point that I make a checklist of things to buy, not dissimilar to a shopping list. Now I know that does sound unusual but I do live some distance from the marke… Continue

I just love Aldeburgh (and suffolk generally). Despite going there regularly for more than 15 years I've never been to the food festival - must fix that this year I think.
Ps v jealous of your day with Sat Bains last week - wanted to go there for a while but haven't managed it yet!

Yes the quince blossom started opening in the middle of the week (am in East London). There is lots so I am hopeful. Last year I only got one quince (the first from the tree) which I had grand plans for but a squirrel got to it first. Hoping to do better this year! Quince curd sounds lovely - if I don't get many this year I might buy some just to have a quince fest!
