- Hi, I'm Mir. I've been cooking for 20years and during that time I've travelled a hugely interesting and rewarding culinary journey.
It started with the purchase of "Leaving Home Cookbook" about 5 weeks before I got married (at 27) ...nearly 20 years ago now.
In between, I have travelled a long, long way. I've enoyed a wonderful culinary vogage. Most of what I've achieved in culinary terms at various points during those 20 years has been has been a reflection on the various phases of my life.I think of it as an ongiong voyage where stops at different various ports (phases of my life) resulted in acooking which reflected the port !
Port 1: Dinners to impress my new hubby and friends.
Prot 2: As confirdence grew, I ventured out to having "proper" dinner parties and became unphased at the thought of having to cater for weekend vistiors/ catering over a period of consequtive days...
....
and so on ..
dinner parties of 6 courses, kitchen suppers, making casserole for 75+ guests, lunch boxes...and every day meals.
I try to stay out of recipe ruts and I love to share my "finds" with others.
I really HEART everything to do with eating, drinking, cooking, entertaining. I am now indulging this love in a brand new port of call.. http://www.gulpfood.com/.

Noodle Time
Anyone else out there got kids under their feet on a day to day basis just now?
I genuinely love my kids. And I love their company.
My exasperation just now is a late evening phenomena - we eat 'tea' at 9 and bedtime is 11!!!

I am an Assistant Producer at ITV Productions and we are currently searching for potential contestants for Britain’s Best Dish. In case you haven’t seen the show before Britain's Best Dish is an annual competition hosted by ITV for amateur cooks. In it we look for Britain's best starter, main course and dessert. The winner of the competition receives the accolade of Britain's Best Dish and takes home a £10,000 cash prize.
