- Meandering through the best food to be found in the fens, based in Cambridge, but often wandering farther afield into the boggy wilds of East Anglia and beyond. Follow my attempts to unearth the top brownies, coffee, scones, fish and chips and bread around, as well as my own occasional attempts to replicate or improve upon what I have tasted. Seasonal specialities are a particular feature, from mince pies to simnel cake to ice cream, as well the best of the season to be found in hedgerows, on trees or in fields. There also may be occasional forays into new territories as I travel the country and beyond, discovering the best of what cities such as York, Oxford, Oslo or even Reykjavík have to offer. When I can no longer fit into my trousers as a result of all this research, I will embrace a rotund and more sedate pace of life, happy in the knowledge that I grew portly for a just cause.
